SPRING IS HERE! ;-)

O.K. in my dreams.... here is a photo of our home
kitchen garden last spring-- Baby greens, chives,
spring berries just starting to bloom.
Can't wait.
Even though it's winter, spring must be right around
the corner!
Hopefully the snow is protecting our delicate crops
from the cold and
we will have our spring sorrel, raspberries, alpine
strawberries,
rhubarb and all those greens that like the coolness
of springtime.
We, at Sweet Lorraine's are celebrating our
Greenfield location being open for 24 years-- with
lot's o' fun specials. Check out our menus button to see what we have to offer.
If you didn't know, we have opened a new location.
Check out our new
location in Pennsylvania at the Peddler's Village
link! It's really
exciting to be taking Sweet Lorraine's on the road
so to speak!.
This year we hope to hook up with more and more
local farmer's and
vendors. We are still getting Ray's Ice cream in for
our house made
desserts--we started with our first location Sweet
Lorraine's Deli and
Cafe 26 years ago. Talk about an institution--Ray's
opened 2 year's
after I was born and are still going strong (just
like me). Check
them out in Royal Oak just north of 13 mile rd on
Coolidge Hwy (tell
them Lorraine sent you, it won't do anything but
hey, why not!)
We have been using Almar Farms in Flushing, for both
organic apples
and apple feed pork-- a great combo!
West Wind Milling in Argentine for organic flour,
oatmeal, cornmeal
and more! This is a great educational trip if you
have kids, they have and are using the original Mill
from 1837. Actually, you don't
have to have kids to enjoy this great Historic site.
Michigan is a great agricultural state -- so please
ask for local veggies when you go to the
supermarket-- don't think this won't help--
just keep on asking you may be surprised on your
next trip with the
BEST local, juicy, & tasty, (better carbon
footprint) food & you are
putting money back into our economy what a concept!
Eat local, eat natural and enjoy life
